Houston Chronicle’s investigative series “Silent Spills Part 3: “Texas officials ignore spread of dioxin in key Houston waterways” digs up and spotlights new information about dangerous pollution in the Bay Area of Houston caused by the San Jacinto River Waste Pits Superfund Site and industry releases along Ship Channel. It’s shocking to see confirmation that dioxin, one of the most toxic chemicals, is now found in shallow waters along Galveston Bay communities Baytown and LaPorte. Harris County Precinct 2 voters need a new County Commissioner who’ll speak out and take action to stop the releases and clean up the toxic waste. The silence by some of our local office holders is deafening.
